
Jeanine Herbst is a news anchor/reporter at NPR, where she anchors the hourly newscast/NPR One podcast, NPR's most listened-to product with nearly 30 million listeners around the world every week. She is also an adjunct professor in journalism at George Washington University.
She's spent more than two decades working in all areas of journalism as an anchor, reporter, editor and producer for radio, TV, podcasts and print.
Before joining NPR, Herbst covered business, national and international news for a range of media outlets, including: WUSA-TV (CBS), CBS Marketwatch, WAMU (NPR), WTOP News radio, Voice of America, the Washington Business Journal and her work has appeared in the Washington Post Magazine.
She holds a master's degree in urban and environmental planning from the University of Virginia School of Architecture, and is a native of St. Paul.
