An accident between a lorry and van in Guyhirn has closed the A47, causing major problems.
The road shut around 12:30 on the 25th September, and closed through the resulting morning rush hour. It was from from A141 March Road (Guyhirn) to B198 Cromwell Road (Wisbech). Traffic was extremely heavy between Peterborough & King's Lynn, wiith a diversion of around 50 miles. Two men in their 30s have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.Sgt Declan McDonagh said: “I would urge anyone who saw this incident or those who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.”
Highways England gave advice about the diversion...Road users travelling eastbound are being advised to join the A141 southbound towards Chatteris.
Then take the A142 eastbound towards Ely.
Following that, take the A10 northbound to Kings Lynn, to rejoin King Lynn.
Those going westbound...are advised to exit the the A47 before road closure, near the village of Elm. Join A1101 southbound towards Outwell.
Continue onto A1122 soutbound towards Denver, then join A10 southbound.
Take A142 westbound, then A141 northbound, rejoin A47.
